Find the ideal oven for you

SPACE & LOCATION

Start by measuring your space. All ovens require at least 60 cm of width while height requirements can vary. See which oven you can select based on the following heights:

72-80 cm – a large capacity oven or a double oven
60 cm – a single standard size oven 
45 cmcompact ovens fit neatly into a smaller space 

Top-tip: You can save space without compromising on functionality. A compact microwave oven allows you to cook, grill, re-heat or defrost any dish with the same results as a larger oven. 

CAPACITY

If you have a big household or entertain often, you probably need an oven that can cope with cooking larger meals. Oven capacity is measured in litres.

70+ litres – perfect for a bigger household of four or more
40 – 70 litres – best suited to a house of three to four
35 – 40 litres – ideal to cook for one to two people

Top-tip: Select an oven with extra shelf positions - this allows more dishes to be cooked at the same time.

COOKING

How do you like to cook? 

Steaming – Steam ovens take your cooking to the next level. While heat browns and crisps the outside, steam locks in the moisture on the inside. The result is a whole range of incredibly succulent dishes including meat, fish, vegetables and even desserts.

Grilling – An oven with a separate grill gives you more space to play with and is an optimal choice for larger meals.

Baking – A fan oven delivers excellent tarts and cakes thanks to perfectly even heat distribution. Also consider at steam oven for professional grade results.

CLEANING

Save yourself from having to clean the oven with chemicals.

Self-cleaning ovens – Pyrolytic ovens will heat up to 500°C, reducing dirt to a fine ash that you can simply wipe away with a cloth.  

Catalytic liners – The catalytic lining absorbs the grease stains and is activated by regular heating to 220°C. The grease is oxidised leaving the surface clean. 

Top-tip: Antifingerprint coating looks immaculate and requires less cleaning.

How much steam?

Using a smaller amount of steam works great for meat, giving it a tender texture with a tasty crust. More delicate dishes such as custards or flans require a bit more steam, while pure steam cooking is ideal for fish, rice, couscous or vegetables.
